PAYING ATTENTION
PAYING ATTENTION - One of the many valuable lessons some of our favorite poets stress is the importance of paying attention, affording nature the closest inspection. We miss so much in life - so many wonders and so many blessings - because we aren't paying attention. Take, for instance, the tiny Eastern-tailed Blue Butterfly I almost missed seeing this past week. I was looking for a Bumblebee on Goldenrood and by accident spied the tiny Eastern-tailed Blue. It was smaller than the nail on my little finger. Yet, that serendiptious moment proved to be a highlight of the day. And I almost missed it, and I would have had I not been paying close attention.
