PATIENCE AND PROFICIENCY

PATIENCE AND PROFICIENCY - During these past seven months, we have had to learn to think outside the box and do some things we had never before dreamed of doing.  And with patience, time, and effort, we may have become quite proficient at new skills and tasks.  The Chinese proverb states that “Only time and effort bring proficiency.”  In considering a nature photograph for this concept, I thought of the Pileated Woodpecker that I was able to capture with my camera recently.  Through time and effort, Pileated has become quite proficient in finding what he needs in the hollows of trees.  Maybe that is one reason – in addition to its great beauty and gracefulness – that I find Pileated so inspiring.  Through patience, time, and effort, who knows in what new ways we may become proficient yet?
