PERSONAL BEAUTY

PERSONAL BEAUTY - Greek philosopher Aristotle said, "Personal beauty is a greater recommendation than any letter of reference."  Although Aristotle wasn't a Christian (he was born in 384 BCE), it occurred to me that his statement accords well with the spirit of Lent.  One objective of Lent, as I see it and as I have been proclaiming it these past few weeks, should be the cultivation of inward personal beauty: increased compassion, kindness, patience, honesty, purity, and the like.  And then the pure white petals of the White Crocus seemed to be a fitting accompaniment, Nature's call, if you will, to a life of personal beauty.
