SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSAL
SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSAL - Perhaps no other plant speaks of the season of Lent better than the Hellebores, commonly known as "Lenten Roses." They are hardy, easily maintained, grow well in the shade at the base of trees, and can be counted on to bloom during the Lenten Season. Thus, they spread their blossoms - which exist in a variety of colors - while it is still winter. Lenten Roses beckon us to step aside, take notice, examine, and reflect, which also happen to be some of the spiritual lessons of the Christian season of Lent as well. Thus, as Rumi's poetry suggests, one might say Lenten Roses hold secrets of the Universal.
