VISION
VISION - The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is a fascinating story to say the least. And Keller was an amazing woman. I cannot imagine accomplishing what Helen Keller accomplished, even with no hearing or vision problems. But to think that she did all she did being both blind and deaf! At many points in the book, Keller amazes me by the statements she makes. For instance, she talks about the joy of being in a small boat or canoe out on a lake at night in the moonlight. How could she have known? With much wisdom Keller said, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." The wise writer of Proverbs said it a similar way: "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). How grateful we are to have physical sight that we may see the beauties of Nature. But may we also have vision to make the most of the lives we have been given.
