THOUGHTS FOR TOMORROW

THOUGHTS FOR TOMORROW - As we read the scriptures, we see warnings regarding two different extremes - being a lazy sloth and making no preparations for tomorrow on the one hand (i.e., Proverbs), and being overly-anxious, unduly worried, and obsessive on the other hand (i.e., Jesus, in Matthew and Luke).  We have to take some thought for tomorrow, obviously.  Otherwise we would end up hungry and homeless.  But one of the keys to an abundant life is being able to find a balance.  Helen Keller - who, ironically, was both blind and deaf - was able to suggest that we think about the life and habits of butterflies who find enjoyment and nourishment in the beauty and bounty of the earth without letting themselves be burdened with what might be tomorrow.
